“A Prosperous Nation – A Clean Life” – Under the Clean Sri Lanka Program
Under this program, cleaning activities were carried out in parks, cemeteries, public lands, and roadside areas to maintain environmental beauty and create a litter-free environment. People of various age groups actively participated in this initiative.
Main Objectives of the Program
- To clean and improve the regional environment and promote environmental conservation
- To clean public places and cemeteries
- To foster a community-based culture of cleanliness through public participation
- To renovate old buildings and lands
- To conduct fogging and waste removal to promote environmental health and disease prevention
This program, which included the participation of residents of Manampitiya, security forces, school officials, and council staff, became an important step in enhancing public involvement in environmental protection. In the future, this initiative will be expanded to all rural areas under the Dimbulagala Pradeshiya Sabha.
