Awareness Program for Local Government Leaders

“Open Governance – Informed Leadership – Responsible Service”

The Dimbulagala Pradeshiya Sabha organized a special awareness program for public representatives, council members, community organization leaders, and state service officers engaged in leadership within the local government sector. Detailed discussions were held on topics such as regulations, legal frameworks, financial management, conflict resolution, and ensuring continuous service delivery.

Special lectures were delivered by advisors from the Ministry of Local Government, professionals in transparency and anti-corruption, and legal experts. The sessions focused on clarifying the duties and responsibilities that should be fulfilled by public officials.

Chairmen, vice-chairmen, council members, department heads, and village representatives actively participated in the discussions, and a collection of awareness booklets was also distributed among participants.
